Some history:
A  River of Light in Waterbury, Waterbury VT’s annual community lantern parade began in 2010. Founding member Angelo Arnold, worked as part of an artists’ team to give students from the Waterbury/ Duxbury School District and surrounding towns an opportunity to learn lantern-making and construction techniques to create willow and tissue paper lantern structures. Arnold also worked with professional artists during special two-day lantern workshops, to design and build larger-scale luminaries to spearhead the procession. After 13 years, the parade is still going strong.
